- The basics are you, your horse, your tack, water for you, food for you and your horse, a way to camp for both you and your horse, and a crew bag if there's an out vet check. After that, the list gets long and fun!

- What type of pants do you ride in? I normally wear jeans but really don't want to get rubbed raw at a ride. And what's a good, breathable half chap?
- I have seen a lot of people use hoof boots. Pros/Cons? Also, how do you go about measuring for size/shape?
- Would love opinions on shoes vs boots. Right now my horse is shod in the front only. I have had to pad him the last two winters to deal with bruising on frozen ground. I hate to shod all four, but likely to be attending rides that are rocky mountain areas. Thoughts?

- I have Garmin Oregon 600 and iPhone with Endomondo app. Could I connect heart rate monitor to any of it? If yes, which one would work fine?
- Heart rate monitors.. Will be using for training and while saddled. I ride with a separate GPS unit so I don't need that. Simple and tough...Polar Inzone or V Max EHRM Endurance watch
